Hello.
My name is Sharon. Yes, my last name is actually Samples. I was born in raised in Mobile, AL.
I’m known in the artistic community as artgyrl. Yep, I can draw.
I’ve been a student of photography since 2003, when I picked it up as a minor to my Graphic Design major while in college. The course program I was in required an art minor, so I selected Photography mainly because my dad was a former professional photographer, and he still had most of his equipment available for me to use.
Little did I know that was the beginning of my love affair with natural light photography. Learning about capturing images the “old-fashioned” way integral to the development of my photography style. I love shooting in black and white, and I enjoy capturing images that appear as a moment in time , the subject completely unaware that they’ve captivated my lens.
Since then, I’ve done a few small professional jobs for friends and friends of friends. Now I’m ready to branch out and be entrusted to capture memories your memories.
